Five quality dimensions and eighteen performance categories keep record of ORF’s media performance, value and benefits for the audience. The dimensions and categories derive from the ORF Act, ORF-regulations and the ORF code of conduct.
The current Public Value Report 2015/2016 comes with a booklet, which features countless of facts and gives the reader a greater understanding of media quality and the current market situation. The Public Value Report is not just listing quantitative data from the past. By the means of projects from 2015/2016 ORF employees describe their perception and understanding of media quality in regards to the overall topic “opening up”. The term “opening up” is interpreted in many different ways: thoughts to citizen relationships and participation, thoughts to corporation with the civic society, and, in addition, science and economy play also a crucial role. Furthermore, considerations about quality journalism in the current course of fleeing and human rights, as well as, content innovation and technical developments, and ORF being the bridge between the living room and the world, are also interpretations of the term “opening up”.
The future of media quality is complex and diverse, which is also demonstrated in the international contributions of the science section in the "Public Social Value".
