PSM is part of collective memory

Dr. Dana Mustata, Universität Groningen

„I think currently multimedia platforms are a way for public broadcasters to make their institution, their history, their content more accessible and I think those are outlets that should be exploited. And I see nowadays in several countries that the public broadcasters are actually experimenting with all that which is a good thing and of course it is a fierce market because also commercials broadcasters do much more maybe than public broadcasters with multimedia outlets – but again, if public broadcasting actually uses content online that is part of national history, that is part of the collective memory and content that again commercial broadcasters don’t have and if they exploit that content online, I think that might sort of serve a good business model for the future in the digital environment, in the online environment.
