Social media is a source of political information, even for those who were sometimes not interested in the topic, but with the stale aftertaste that misinformation is often not recognized. This makes it all the more important to "play along" as a trustworthy medium in this area as well and to adapt to the needs of users. This also involves the issue of speed: The generation of digital natives is used to being able to call up information every second. In Lower Austria, for example, the live ticker for the local council elections in January 2020, which recorded more than half a million hits, showed that ORF's digital offerings are being accepted in this direction. In the run-up to the elections, a total of almost eight million hits were recorded on noe.ORF.at contributions on the topic. ORF Lower Austria reached more than 30,000 users via Facebook and Instagram on election day.
