Astrid Spielberger, program manger "bewusst gesund" #5 How does the ORF become a digital doctor? "When it comes down to it, ORF" - This should not only apply during the Corona pandemic, but to health topics in general. In times when people increasingly get their information from social media and find it difficult to distinguish scientifically sound news from fake news, a reliable source of information is important. The ORF produces numerous contributions on the topic of health every day, from current affairs reporting to magazine contributions from the radio and television stations to online articles. Combining them on a common platform would be a logical first step. The BEWUSST GESUND app as the basis of an ORF health platform could offer all information on the topic of health - and always ready to hand and available everywhere. All contributions, whether as videos, podcasts or online articles, flow into the app, which is structured and searchable by topic. With this form, the ORF could reach media users who do not watch linear television or listen to the radio, but still rely on quality media. But there is also the possibility to address users who get their information mainly from social forums and are not reached by the classical media. A registration offers users the possibility to have the most important topic areas present on the dashboard right away and to create a personalised collection. Content is presented according to age group and interest.

Through the registration data, ORF could draw conclusions about viewer habits and wishes. The BEWUSST GESUND app also offers the possibility to form communities and to integrate many additional offers: e.g. an "expert corner" with videos or podcasts from medical specialists, fitness tips from "Fit mit Philipp" to "Yoga Magazin", information on food and healthy recipes to the creation of a personal health library. Digitalisation is also playing an increasingly important role in medicine, from birthmark checks to telemedical care. For example, the BEWUSST GESUND app could be used for health monitoring. In this area, cooperation with health institutions also presents itself.

In a further step, it will probably be necessary to produce additional contributions and series that are target group-oriented and designed to be online-adequate, and to think about a link with the ORF player as an important consequence. It is already technically possible to run apps on the computer: The BEWUSST GESUND app instead of Dr. Google!
