Barbara Battisti, Head of TV Business editorial office #39 How do you talk about money today? Anyone who attempts an all-encompassing answer to the question of how business reporting in the digital world could succeed safely and for everyone is bound to fail. The topic is too complex, the media market too disruptive. But I think three theses are worth mentioning:

- If it is important (also in the economy), ORF will continue to be number one for Austrians.

The digital transformation is also changing ORF. Quality, reliability and objectivity remain our guidelines - also and especially in business reporting. At the same time, we are working on further expanding our position. In doing so, we have to focus even more on young people, whose habits of using media and information are significantly different than in the past. And it is also important to get young people interested in the topic of economy.

- The "second screen" is also used by ORF:

Smartphone, tablet, laptop - in addition to or instead of the TV set: this has long been the new reality in the everyday lives of many ORF users.... In addition to the ORF programme, people comment and discuss on social media such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram - also about economic topics. Editorial social media support is a new opportunity and at the same time a challenge for ORF. Our listeners, viewers and readers expect public ORF quality here as well.

- The ORF audience wants to know even more - answers in the ORF economic wiki:

What exactly is GDP? What is a hedge fund? How does money get into the ATM?
And what happens on the stock exchange? Questions that we answer via new podcasts and explanatory videos, accompanying
accompanying the current reporting, for added value digitally and in public service media quality. Financial knowledge and economic education for everyone, available online at any time. Also as a retrospective, for example: the biggest bank failures in the Republic up to the scandal surrounding Commerzialbank Mattersburg. And trimedially networked: with the business block in ZIB13, Eco, the Ö1 business magazine Saldo or debatte.ORF.at.
