Angela Ganthaler, Editor ORF Vorarlberg #71 Is the digital highway about conversation? ORF is supposed to inform and pick up on important topics in life. Only, what has so far taken place more or less exclusively on radio and TV will be on the net in the future. This requires additional possibilities. In order to live up to our task online as well, ORF Vorarlberg must become a digital platform where people can inform themselves, but also exchange ideas. Well suited for this would be a kind of live podcast - like the app "Clubhouse". There, people could then take part in a wide variety of discussions. vorarlberg.ORF.at could also be a kind of "Clubhouse," but in " Vorarlbergish " i.e., with topics that are burning under the nails of Vorarlbergers. There will be no camera in the chat rooms, and you won't be able to make any comments; everything will be done via audio. People can meet online and talk and discuss various topics together. There is a moderator or host who leads the conversation, similar to the ORF Radio Vorarlberg talk format "Neues bei Neustädter," only digital. This way, people can easily get information and also easily ask questions or just listen. Furthermore, ORF Vorarlberg should also create the possibility to be present at social events online. Concerts or cabaret artists could be brought into the living rooms of Vorarlbergers via live video stream. A nice example of this was the CD presentation by George Nußbaumer. The one-hour concert was broadcast online via video livestream on vorarlberg.ORF.at. Participation in events and the opportunity to communicate live with each other on relevant topics - if we succeed in doing this digitally in Vorarlberg, we are well on our way.
