ORF Lower Austria Regional director Alexander Hofer Robert Ziegler, born on 13 April 1967, has been working for ORF since 1998 and has been associated with the Lower Austria Regional Studio ever since. He was initially an editor, and for many years he was on duty as chief of staff for the radio news or "Niederösterreich heute", reporting live from numerous events in the province. Ziegler has hosted "Niederösterreich heute" since 2005. In 2011, he became a member of the ORF Foundation Council as a works council member, and the following year he became the first coordinator of the ORF regional studios. He has been editor-in-chief of ORF Lower Austria since September 2015. Robert Ziegler originally studied music before embarking on a career in journalism.

On 16 September 2021, he was appointed Regional Director of the ORF Regional Studio Lower Austria.
