ORF Burgenland Reginal Director Mag. Werner Herics
Werner Herics was born in Oberwart in 1965 and, after completing his studies in history and geography, has worked for ORF in the Burgenland regional studio since 1991 and subsequently as a presenter and director at Ö1. From 1997 to 1999 he headed the ORF correspondent's office in Belgrade. On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Herics was the coordinator of the OSCE's advisory and training programmes for media in Kosovo from 2000 onwards, as well as OSCE delegate in Kosovo and Macedonia. In 2001 he returned to ORF, where he was presenter and director of the journal programmes as well as deputy head of Ö1-Info until 2006. From 2007 to 2010, Werner Herics was managing director of all WAZ publishing holdings in Serbia. He then served on the board of the publishing house RMA (joint venture Styria/Moser Holding) in Vienna. In 2013, Herics returned to ORF, where he was involved in the organisation of the future media location ORF. On 15 September 2016, Werner Herics was appointed Director of the Regional Studio Burgenland and confirmed for the next term of office on 16 September 2021.
