ORF Styria Regional Director Gerhard Koch Gerhard Koch, born on 18 February 1961 in Rosental an der Kainach (district of Voitsberg), has been a member of ORF Styria since 1985 and has been regional director of the Styrian regional studio since 1 May 2019. After graduating from high school, Koch completed the media studies course at the Karl Franzens University in Graz and started his journalistic career in the "Neue Zeit" chronicle editorial department. In 1985 he changed to the current affairs service of ORF Styria. Koch held various management positions at the Styrian regional studio, including head of the radio information department at Radio Steiermark, head of the TV programme "Steiermark heute", head of the daily editorial department at Radio Steiermark and deputy to the head of the radio programme. From January 1999 to April 2019, Gerhard Koch was editor-in-chief of ORF Styria. Since 1999, he has also been editorially responsible for the major TV productions of the Styrian regional studio.

On 1 May 2019, Gerhard Koch was appointed by the ORF Foundation Council as Regional Director of the ORF Regional Studio Styria and confirmed in this function on 16 September 2021 for the next functional period.
