ORF Salzburg Regional Director Mag.a Waltraud Langer
Waltraud Langer has a degree in economics and has worked for ORF since 1988. Born in Salzburg, she worked on the radio in the domestic affairs and economics editorial departments. From 1992 to 1994 - during the EU accession negotiations - she reported from Brussels as ORF foreign correspondent. After her return to Vienna, she worked as a member of the economic editorial staff for "ZIB" and the economic magazine "Euro Austria", focusing on the European Union and monetary union. From 2000 onwards, Waltraud Langer was presenter and creator of the stock exchange news in "ZIB" at 1 pm. In 2001 she was appointed head of the economics department in "ZIB 1", in June 2002 for all "ZIB" editions. Since 2003, she has complemented the ORF pool of journalists at ORF's "Pressestunde" and since May 2005 she has also hosted the discussion programme "Offen gesagt". In 2007 she was appointed head of information at ORF 1, and since July 2010 she has been head of ORF TV's main department of magazines. The journalist and author of several books has received several awards, including the Horst Knapp Prize, the René Marcic Prize and best business journalist of the year 2007.

On 16 September 2021, she was appointed Regional Director of the ORF Salzburg Regional Studio.
