09 - What did you last learn on ORF?
subtitle09
According to the ORF Act, one of ORF's program principles is to "serve science and education". How the ORF fulfills this in TV is formulated in the "
Quality Profile" for the "TV Science/Education/Service/Life Support" area, among other things. Along the performance criteria of trust and orientation, diversity and responsibility, proximity to citizens, global perspective and federalism, competence and innovation, the quality profile defines concrete requirements for program design and journalistic work.
The audience gives the work of ORF journalists good marks in the evaluation of the quality profile. However, as can be read there, they have an allergic reaction to one thing: "One of the main motives for using the ORF is further education and up-to-date information, whereby the comprehensible communication of complex content plays an important role. At the same time, it is perceived negatively when programs come across as instructive." Educational is different from instructive. The question remains: What did you last learn on ORF?
