Time and again, ORF employees expose themselves to danger in the course of reporting in order to provide Austrian viewers with first-hand information. Be it for reports on natural disasters, news from dictatorships or information from war zones. In 2023, for example, colleagues reporting from Ukraine or Israel were affected. One of them, Israel correspondent Tim Cupal, was named "Journalist of the Year" by the industry magazine "Österreichische Journalist:in".
