41 - Who controls the ORF?

ORF is one of the most audited companies in Austria. In addition to the Board of Trustees, an independent audit commission, the regulatory authority KommAustria and the Court of Auditors monitor its business activities. According to the ORF Act, in addition to the ORF Director General, the Audience Council and the Board of Trustees are the governing bodies of Austrian Broadcasting. Their members are:




The Public Council has its own website, where you can also submit a complaint. Anyone may attend the meetings of the Public Council. The rules of procedure of the Board of Trustees are public.

In addition to the Audience Council and the Foundation Council, there are other advisory bodies, such as the ORF III Cultural Advisory Board or the ORF Health Advisory Board.
