Digital Local#67 National Value: What should ORF do for Austria in digital? Digital technologies have conquered the entire planet and are penetrating the smallest geographic spaces. They provide information and entertainment in both global and local contexts. The question is: Do they also know people's needs? Do they respond to different regional, cultural, ethnic identities? WHO cares about the small spaces, the shady sides, the commercially uninteresting topics at the edge of the global mainstream? How can ORF fulfill its federal mission in the face of overwhelming competition from global digital corporations?
